Legend Biotech is seeking a Maintenance Technician Specialist as part of the Technical Operations team based in Raritan, NJ
.

Role Overview

This position will be responsible for maintenance support and mechanical system operations for cGMP clinical and commercial cell therapy manufacturing during the modified second shift. The individual will partner with various Technical Operation functions to support personalized cell therapy production through safe and compliant manufacturing operations in accordance with cGMP requirements. The role will support the organization in building, ramping up clinical production, and achieving facility approval for a state‑of‑the‑art cell therapy facility for commercial launch and sustained production.

Technical expertise and troubleshooting ability will drive effective and robust production, testing, and release of product to patients.

Shift Schedule

Sunday‑Thursday, 3rd shift (10 am‑8:30 pm)

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain all types of HVAC, refrigeration, clean room HVAC, clean steam, cryogenic storage equipment, and all types of process equipment and systems.
  • Utilize knowledge and experience in plumbing, HVAC, clean room HVAC, refrigeration, pipe fitting, and millwright activities associated with mechanical systems, utilities, and process equipment.
  • Perform minor upgrades and installations of facilities and systems.
  • Conduct on‑site equipment maintenance and critical utilities maintenance operations, ensuring compliance. Support manufacturing equipment projects, cost‑improvement initiatives, asset management, reliability, and business operations.
  • Support facility project initiatives as needed.
  • Maintain knowledge of all applicable codes and regulations, obtaining and keeping current all required licensing and certifications.
  • Possess experience and training in reactive, preventive, and predictive maintenance of mechanical, HVAC, and refrigeration plumbing/pipe fitting areas with journeyman status in at least one.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, P&IDs, and drawings.
  • Utilize good documentation practices (GDP) for all work performed on the CMMS system work orders. Complete all other work associated with the assignment cooperatively with others.
  • Demonstrate ability to effectively troubleshoot, plan work, anticipate potential problems, and take appropriate actions.
  • Demonstrate ability to remove defective parts by dismantling equipment using hoists, scissor lifts, manlifts, and hand and power tools.
  • Repair instrumentation, electrical devices, circuits, and switch gear used in cGMP and non‑GMP systems.
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and provide repairs to equipment, instruments, instrumentation systems, electrical systems, controls, motors with voltages up to 600 V.
  • Operate, monitor, and maintain switch gear.
  • Have working knowledge of building automation systems, including PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and other components.
  • Be familiar with validated and qualified equipment and associated documentation.
  • Understand electrical theory, thermal energy principles, mechanical maintenance techniques, and electromechanical theory.
  • Ensure regulatory and job training remains current by promptly completing required training.
  • Comply with all company and/or site policies and procedures.
  • Support maintenance‑driven quality events, including deviations/investigations, out‑of‑tolerances (OOTs), change controls, root cause analysis, and FMEAs.
  • Show willingness to learn new skills as required.
  • Be available for other duties as required.
  • Support tracking and achievement of annual maintenance goals and objectives, including metric improvement targets and continuous improvement activities.
