We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant with strong exposure to the FMCG retail and UAE hypermarket sector. The ideal candidate should have hands‑on experience in retail accounting, inventory control, supplier reconciliation, VAT compliance, and daily financial operations within supermarkets or hypermarket environments. The candidate must be familiar with high-volume transactions, retail ERP systems, and UAE financial regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain accurate accounting records and general ledger entries.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
- Handle accounts payable and receivable processes.
- Perform bank reconciliations and cash flow monitoring.
- Prepare profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
- Monitor daily sales reconciliation from POS systems.
- Verify cash and card payment settlements.
- Reconcile branch‑wise sales and collections.
- Track promotional discounts, rebates, and supplier support income.
- Monitor shrinkage, wastage and stock variances.
- Perform intercompany reconciliations between group entities and branches.
- Reconcile intercompany balances, transactions and ledger discrepancies.
- Prepare intercompany debit‑credit notes and adjustment entries.
- Coordinate with finance teams across multiple entities to resolve variances.
- Ensure timely elimination entries and proper supporting documentation.
- Assist in consolidated financial reporting for group companies.
- Manage inventory accounting for fast‑moving consumer goods.
- Coordinate with warehouse and store operations teams.
- Conduct stock audits and physical inventory verification.
- Analyze stock aging, expiry and damaged goods.
- Ensure accurate costing and inventory valuation.
- Reconcile supplier statements and payment schedules.
- Verify promotional claims and rebates.
- Process supplier invoices and credit notes.
- Coordinate with procurement and category teams.
- Prepare and file UAE VAT returns ensuring compliance with UAE accounting and tax regulations.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Maintain proper documentation and financial controls.
- Operate retail ERP accounting systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics.
- Generate MIS and financial analysis reports.
- Support automation and process improvement initiatives.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce.
- Professional qualification: ACCA, CMA, or CPA preferred.
- 3–7 years of accounting experience in FMCG retail or hypermarket industry.
- Mandatory UAE experience in supermarket/hypermarket operations.
- Experience handling high‑volume retail transactions.
- Knowledge of retail accounting principles.
- Familiarity with UAE VAT and corporate tax regulations.
- Advanced Excel and reporting skills.
- Good analytical and reconciliation abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Preferred: experience in hypermarkets, supermarkets, FMCG distribution, retail chains, wholesale cash‑carry operations.
- Experience with major retail groups in the United Arab Emirates is an advantage.
