M&A Manager recruitment brief
:
A strategic, analytically strong M&A professional with solid deal execution experience in the pharma/healthcare sector, preferably strengthened by BD/licensing exposure, familiar with pharma regulatory landscapes and partnering cross‑functionally to successfully deliver M&A projects.
1. Core Technical CompetenciesEnd-to-End M&A Execution
Experience:
- Target screening & strategic fit assessment
- Financial modelling & valuation
- Due diligence coordination
- Deal negotiation & structuring
- Post-merger integration planning
Pharma / Life Sciences
- Life sciences – specific transaction knowledge
- Exposure to BD/licensing helpful
- Understanding of drug portfolios, regulatory pathways, pharma/biotech deals
Strategic Thinking and Scenario Modelling
- Translate corporate strategy into actionable M&A priorities
- Assess long‑term value creation, synergy realization, and risk
- Financial valuation modelling
- Forecasting deal impact and scenario analysis
- Valuation under varied regulatory timelines
- Experience in MENA markets and other emerging markets
- Familiar with varied regulatory frameworks
- Exposure to cross‑border transaction complexity
- Ability to collaborate across all function with good understanding of Regulatory, R&D and Manufacturing
Executive Communication & Stakeholder Management:
- Manage cross-functional project teams
- Present complex deal structures
- Influence decision‑making
- Manage external advisors (e.g. consultancies, auditors)
- High Ownership & Ability to Drive Processes Independently
Ideal Experience Requirements:
- 10+ years in M&A, Corporate Development, or Transaction Advisory
- Experience in pharmaceuticals, biotech or healthcare services
- Proven track record of closed transactions (deal sheet required)
- Exposure to licensing, partnerships, JV structures
- Prior roles in:
- Pharma corporates (M&A/BD)
- Big 4 Transaction Services
- Investment banking (Healthcare coverage)
- Boutique healthcare M&A firms (e.g., from platforms like Fintalent referenced in your emails)
