Job Description About Wynn Al Marjan Island:

Wynn Al Marjan Island will be the first integrated resort in the UAE. Set to open in 2027, the resort will be located 50 miles from Dubai International Airport in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah. The resort will offer 1,530 rooms and suites, 22 restaurants, lounges, and bars, a theater, and a beach club. It will feature multiple swimming and wading pools, water features, a five-star spa, a salon, a shopping promenade, and a celebrations and events center.

The Position

Wynn Al Marjan Island is currently seeking an Assistant Manager - Catering & Banquets to join the resort’s Food & Beverage team.

The Primary Duties And Responsibilities Of This Role Are
  • Manage the daily operations of the Catering & Banquet department in accordance with established standards, policies, and operating procedures while ensuring efficient and cost-effective performance.
  • Review and oversee banquet/event planning activities, including BEOs, event forecasts, banquet preparation, setup, execution, and post-event follow-up.
  • Coordinate with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery of banquet functions and events.
  • Maintain departmental inventory, equipment, supplies, cleanliness, and hygiene standards, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and operational requirements.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction and service excellence by delivering high-quality experiences, recommending suitable banquet solutions, addressing guest requests, and resolving complaints promptly.
  • Manage workforce planning and scheduling, ensuring staffing levels are aligned with business demands and operational requirements.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, performance management, and development opportunities for team members, including hiring support, evaluations, counseling, and recognition.
  • Conduct departmental communications, training, and briefings, ensuring team members are informed of company updates, service standards, and operational expectations.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives through on-the-job training, refresher programs, service audits, and corrective action where required.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative workplace culture that promotes teamwork, engagement, professionalism, and effective multicultural communication.
  • Prepare operational and performance reports, provide recommendations on industry trends, and support strategic adjustments to services, pricing, and resource planning.
  • Comply with all company policies, code of conduct, grooming standards, health and safety requirements, and sustainability initiatives, including participation in recycling and environmental programs.
About You

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ banquet experience in five-star luxury hotel banquet operations
  • Excellent product knowledge of Western and Asian cuisines, wines and cocktails
  • Secondary school diploma or above; bachelor’s degree in hospitality management an advantage
  • Fluent spoken and written English, one other language proficiency preferred
  • Proficient in MS Office and POS software
  • Excellent leadership, management and supervisory abilities
  • Customer service orientated, excellent communicator and good interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated, organized, confident, friendly and polite
  • Team player who responds quickly to demands and thrives in a high pressure work environment
  • Able to work on shifts and be flexible regarding work schedules according to business demand
