Job Summary

A private farming institution in the UAE is seeking an experienced Senior Beekeeper / Apiculture Specialist to lead and optimize beekeeping operations across multiple farms in Ras Al Khaimah.

This role combines hands‑on apiary management with a progressive technical and advisory function, with the potential to evolve into a broader leadership role supporting apiculture development across the Emirate.

The successful candidate will initially manage beekeeping operations across several farms, within a wider system comprising approximately 3,000 beehives across multiple locations. Operations are conducted in arid and semi‑arid conditions, requiring adaptive, climate‑resilient practices.

This position offers a unique opportunity for growth, and to build and scale a leading apiculture program in Khaimah, contributing to honey production, pollination services, and sustainable agricultural development.

• Lead day‑to‑day management of assigned apiaries, including hive inspections, feeding, splitting, requeening, and seasonal management
• Ensure optimal colony health through proactive disease and pest management (e.g., Varroa control, environmental stress mitigation)
• Plan and execute honey production cycles, including harvesting, extraction, processing, and storage
• Optimize hive placement and, where applicable, seasonal migration strategies

• Improve productivity and resilience of colonies under arid climate conditions
• Develop and implement strategies for colony expansion and stock improvement
• Contribute to scaling the beekeeping program across additional farms in RAK

• Coordinate closely with farm management teams to provide effective pollination services for date palms, fruit trees, and other crops
• Align hive deployment with crop cycles to maximize agricultural yields
• Ensure safe integration of agrochemical practices with bee health

• Maintain detailed records on hive performance, mortality rates, honey yields, and seasonal trends
• Utilize digital tools, sensors, or farm management systems where applicable
• Provide regular technical reports and recommendations to the Farm Manager

• Oversee maintenance and procurement of beekeeping equipment and supplies
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and biosecurity standards
• Manage operational inputs efficiently to optimize cost and productivity

• Train farm workers and junior staff in beekeeping practices
• Develop and standardize SOPs for apiculture operations
• Gradually provide technical advisory support to other farms within RAK

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Apiculture, Agriculture, Biology, or related field
• Minimum 5+ years of hands‑on beekeeping experience, preferably in challenging climates (arid/semi‑arid environments highly desirable)
• Strong expertise in hive management, bee health, and honey production systems
• Experience with modern beekeeping technologies and monitoring systems is an advantage
• Understanding of pollination systems in commercial agriculture

• Proven ability to manage large‑scale apiaries (1,000+ hives preferred)
• Strong problem‑solving skills in colony health and environmental adaptation
• Ability to work independently across multiple farm locations
• Basic digital literacy for record‑keeping and reporting
• Team‑oriented with strong communication skills

• Reports directly to the Farm Manager
• Works closely with crop production and farm operations teams

• Based in Ras Al Khaimah with multi‑site responsibilities across farms
• Valid driving license required (or ability to obtain one)
• Ability to work outdoors in high‑temperature environments
