Teacher Responsibilities:

• Establish a culture of high expectations for all students.
• Develop and implement instructional practices consistent with STEM Charter Academy’s guidelines and Idaho Content Standards.
• Actively engage all students in their own learning through organization and best practices in teaching.
• Know each student and his or her family well - building productive and positive relationships.
• Be a master of classroom management.
• Measure students’ learning regularly through formative and summative assessments, and informal/formal observations; refine and adjust classroom practices as needed.
• Actively participate in professional development, collaboratively within the music department and with grade level teams, administration, and student support personnel.
• Team with other STEM Charter Academy teachers to improve teaching practices; share ideas.
• Track critical student information; maintain and update lesson plans and grades weekly.
• Demonstrate commitment to STEM Charter Academy’s mission, vision, value statements, core practices and benchmarks, policies and procedures, operation instructions, confidentiality standards, and code of character.

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
• Experience teaching music (instrumental).
• State licensing and certifications applicable to teaching.
• Ability to work 0.5 FTE, Monday-Thursday afternoons.
