Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties And Functions)- CDL Driver:
- Operate water truck and other CDL vehicles as instructed.
- Load and unload equipment and secure equipment on trailer per DOT regulations.
- Routinely assist other members of the workforce in different areas of production.
- Equipment Operator:
- Operate equipment safely and efficiently within designed parameters (examples include roller, blade, loader, backhoe).
- Perform labor duties such as shovel, rake, and compact materials in grading operations.
- Perform minor servicing and maintenance or refer major problems to the supervisor.
- Keep machines cleaned and maintained; have knowledge of proper operation and grade/work operations.
- Perform “grade check” duties, including hammering hubs, reading grade stakes and plans.
- Other tasks and duties as assigned to meet business needs.
- Take action to avoid potential hazards or obstructions; maintain regular and timely attendance.
- Promote an inclusive work environment.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Education/Experience- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous asphalt grade/pave operations and/or construction-related experience preferred.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Class A CDL with self-certification of non-excepted interstate and current DOT medical card required.
- Safety-minded professional who demonstrates good performance, attendance, and punctuality.
- Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends/holidays.
- Willingness to learn and perform a variety of job tasks.
- Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, site specifications, simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write simple correspondence.
- Math proficiency: ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions.

- Grip with at least 90 lbs. of force.
- Climbing in, around, and on equipment.
- Heavy lifting up to 75 lbs. from floor to waist.
- Awkward positions, flexible reaches, and balance on uneven surfaces.
- Vision and hearing requirements to perceive safety hazards and warnings.
Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions with a generally loud noise level.
Other Qualifications- Must be able to pass physical fitness and agility tests.
