• CDL Driver:
  • Operate water truck and other CDL vehicles as instructed.
  • Load and unload equipment and secure equipment on trailer per DOT regulations.
  • Routinely assist other members of the workforce in different areas of production.
• Equipment Operator:
  • Operate equipment safely and efficiently within designed parameters (examples include roller, blade, loader, backhoe).
  • Perform labor duties such as shovel, rake, and compact materials in grading operations.
  • Perform minor servicing and maintenance or refer major problems to the supervisor.
  • Keep machines cleaned and maintained; have knowledge of proper operation and grade/work operations.
  • Perform “grade check” duties, including hammering hubs, reading grade stakes and plans.
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned to meet business needs.
  • Take action to avoid potential hazards or obstructions; maintain regular and timely attendance.
  • Promote an inclusive work environment.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous asphalt grade/pave operations and/or construction-related experience preferred.

• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Class A CDL with self-certification of non-excepted interstate and current DOT medical card required.

• Safety-minded professional who demonstrates good performance, attendance, and punctuality.
• Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends/holidays.
• Willingness to learn and perform a variety of job tasks.
• Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, site specifications, simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write simple correspondence.
• Math proficiency: ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions.

• Grip with at least 90 lbs. of force.
• Climbing in, around, and on equipment.
• Heavy lifting up to 75 lbs. from floor to waist.
• Awkward positions, flexible reaches, and balance on uneven surfaces.
• Vision and hearing requirements to perceive safety hazards and warnings.

Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions with a generally loud noise level.
