Job Brief

As a Bulk Truck Operator, you will operate Dyno Nobel trucks and specialty equipment to deliver commercial explosives products to customers in a safe, timely and efficient manner.

What You’ll Do
  • Assist in the operation and maintenance of our local SME (Site Mixed Emulsion) plant facility; duties include preparation and quality control management of chemical solutions, loading and unloading of SME trucks.
  • Drive/operate a range of delivery vehicles over public roads to move or deliver explosive products to company or customer sites in a timely and safe manner.
  • Driving duties will frequently extend off public roads to include mine locations, quarries, FSRs, off‑road field locations and other terrain.
  • Drive and operate bulk/SME truck to prepare and deliver quality explosive products to customer sites.
  • Operate rigid‑frame, engine‑powered machines (skid steer) and associated equipment (trailer).
  • Possess basic mechanical skills and troubleshoot and perform minor repairs or maintenance while in the field, delivering and unloading product within DN H&S Management System procedures.
  • Calibrate equipment, calculate fuel percentages, and check emulsion density.
  • Load and unload all trucks, maintain magazines, sites and inventories.
  • Follow safety procedures and maintain safe working conditions in the shop, while driving and operating equipment, and while on blast sites to protect personal safety and safety of others.
  • Prepare and maintain all records and reports concerning handling and transportation of explosive products, including safety and use and detonation of explosives, to ensure accurate billing, regulatory compliance and performance history.
  • Knowledgeable of and consistently apply practices consistent with company policies and procedures from applicable technical modules, SOPs, work site, and safety policies.
  • Maintain safe working conditions and ensure all crew members and others on the site follow all safety and regulatory procedures and practices to ensure a safe and successful event.
  • From time to time, work from our sister site at Rathdrum, /or Oakland, OR on an ad hoc basis, as required by the site supervisor.
What We’re Looking For
  • CDL Class A or B required.
  • Air Brakes endorsement required.
  • Hazmat endorsement preferred.
  • Must be willing to undergo and pass an ATF background check as required to be a possessor of explosives.
  • Ability to read, write, speak English, and communicate in writing and verbally.
  • Must be able to move items weighing up to 60lb repeatedly over the course of a working day.
  • Must be able to work Monday – Friday early morning start times (anywhere from 8 to 14 hours daily).
  • Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and a team player.
