Job Objectives
Under the direct supervision of a PCSA Supervisor, assists PCSA staff by providing at-home and in-office services to assigned families to ensure compliance with reunification plans. Incumbent is also responsible for providing educational and parent training services and maintaining regular contact with PCSA staff regarding visitation and at-home services.
Essential Job Functions- Support PCSA case staff throughout the division by providing at-home and in-office services to assigned children, adults, and families to include scheduling appointments, completing referrals to services, administering drug screens, and obtaining medical/educational information.
- Schedules visits in compliance with court order or as directed, monitor parent and child interaction to ensure visits proceeds smoothly. Ensuring proper precautions are taken during visitations, report observations and activities of the families to the assigned caseworker and supervisor.
- Provide education and parent training to aid in improving parenting skills in a supervised setting or the home environment to observe familial interactions.
- Assist with completing Family Search and Engagement searches.
- Facilitate and conduct Family Team Meetings and Semi-Annual Review (SAR) per OAC requirement and timelines. Guide meeting participants through discussions of concerns, brainstorming the identification of strengths that enlist relevant information to reach consensus, that supports making safety decisions. Prepares accurate, timely, written documentation summarizing each staffing and provides a documented action plan. Collects and monitors data on individual cases. Assist in developing and collecting aggregate data for evaluation and planning purposes.
- Assist adoptive families to access resources specific to their needs, including educational, behavioral health, support groups and other resources including, completing PASSS applications, Adoption Connection Assistance to 21 Applications, if eligible.
- Assist with Independent Living program to include helping with group activities, completing service vouchers, entering case services, obtaining , and opening savings accounts, participating in Self Sufficiency meetings, completing vendor sheets and other assigned tasks.
- Transport family members as needed or assigned.
- Assist with the coordination of meetings.
- Type routine correspondence/forms, process, copy and file documents. Answer general inquiries on the phone and/or in person. Enter assigned documentation into the SACWIS system. Review and scan documents received into Traverse. Maintains files to include case notes, documentation & verifications as required.
- Testify in court as subpoenaed or assigned.
- Keep current in areas of responsibility by attending skill development conferences, seminars, or State-sponsored programs related to Federal, State laws, rules, and regulations.
- Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance.
- Operate a motor vehicle as needed to perform the essential functions.
- May assist in training new employees.
- Perform other related Essential and Non‑Essential functions as needed.
Systems: Ability to operate computers for data input and retrieval; proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office and web browsers (Internet Explorer and Google Chrome), knowledge of CRIS‑E, OIES, SACWIS, ODAPS, OWCMS, SETS, CFIS, MUNIS, MITS, BUY‑IN, eGateway, eQuil, CCIDS, OCLQS, CLEARS, Courtview, Time Force, Traverse, Agency’s Digital Imaging systems and other systems as required by program area responsibility.
Equipment: Incumbent operates equipment such as, but not limited to, the following: personal computer, printer, calculator, multi-functional copier, fax machine, shredder, cell phone, camera and children’s car seats.
