Overview
The Portage-Geauga County Juvenile Detention Center is seeking a full-time maintenance worker responsible for maintaining the facility and grounds at on-site locations. Maintains an on-call 24-hour status for emergencies. Preferred knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and mechanical procedures.
Responsibilities- Maintaining a safe and secure environment through regular inspection and maintenance of facility and grounds to ensure proper operation of plumbing fixtures, HVAC, appliances, doors, locks, and related security equipment.
- Performing various maintenance tasks, including general electrical and plumbing repairs, painting, stripping and waxing floors, etc.
- Coordinating advanced repairs with Portage County Maintenance and/or selected contractors.
- Completing custodial and housekeeping tasks.
- Performing groundskeeping, including mowing lawns, laying mulch, pulling weeds, and trimming hedges.
- Performing snow removal, including plowing, snow blowing, shoveling, and salting parking lots and sidewalks.
- On-call 24-hour status for emergencies.
- Preferred knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and mechanical procedures.
