The New Accounts Representative serves as a primary point of contact for Bank customers and is responsible for creating a welcoming, helpful, and professional experience. Opens and services accounts, listens carefully and asks questions to understand customer needs, recommends appropriate Bank products and services, answers questions and takes ownership of resolving account in an efficient, timely, friendly, and courteous manner by performing the following duties:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides clear, polite and professional communication in-person, via phone, chat, and email to internal and external customers.
- Explains the different types of products available to customers and suggests the most appropriate one for their needs.
- Establishes proper identification of customer(s) and completes necessary forms requiring customer's signature.
- Inputs new account information or data changes into the online system.
- Takes orders for checks and deposit slips.
- Answers telephone calls regarding accounts.
- Mails or sends through Synergy the necessary documents to customers requesting to open a new account or change an existing account through Adobe Sign.
- Assists customers with online banking questions and enrollments.
- Maintains monthly records of all accounts opened and closed.
- Performs all functions related to Safe Deposit Boxes.
- Processes stop/hold payment orders, applies charges and notifies other departments.
- Assists customers in balancing their DDA accounts.
- Assists customers in changing PIN numbers on Bank ATM/Visa debit cards upon customer's request.
- Performs all functions relating to Certificates of Deposits and IRAs including ensuring that the correct interest payments are made and the interest notices are correct before mailing to the customer.
- Establishes automatic internal account transfers for customers.
- Establishes sweep accounts with proper authorization and documentation.
- Performs Customer Call Backs on new account opening satisfaction and log the results of those calls.
- Performs all functions related to Christmas Club and Vacation Club accounts and mails the Club checks to customers.
- Handles 1099's at year-end and makes necessary corrections.
- Provides notary service.
- Promotes Bank services and cross-sells Bank products.
Nonessential
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintains the proper level of new account kits.
- Prints new accounts reports from Synergy.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.

Education/
Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior customer service, sales or banking experience is preferred.
