Basic Requirements

You must be 18 years of age and have a valid driver's license with a safe driving record meeting company standards, access to an insured vehicle that can be used for delivery, and navigational skills to read a map and locate addresses within a designated delivery area. You must also be able to navigate adverse terrain, including multi‑story buildings.

General

Job Duties
  • Operate all equipment.
  • Stock ingredients from the delivery area to storage, the work area, and the walk‑in cooler.
  • Prepare product.
  • Receive and process telephone orders.
  • Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
  • Clean equipment and facility approximately daily.
Training

Orientation and training provided on the job.

Essential Functions / Skills
  • Perform arithmetic (add, subtract, multiply, divide) accurately and quickly; calculator may be used.
  • Make correct monetary change.
  • Hold verbal, written, and telephone communication skills to take and process orders for both phone and in‑person.
  • Have motor coordination between eyes and hands/fingers to make precise movements quickly.
  • Enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch‑screen.
  • Navigate a map and locate addresses within a designated delivery area.
  • Navigate adverse terrain including private homes, multi‑story buildings, and other delivery sites while carrying product.
Work Conditions

Exposure to varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions when removing trash, performing outside tasks, or delivering product. In‑store temperatures range from 36°F in the cooler to 90°F or higher in some areas. Sudden changes in temperature while inside or outside. Fumes from food odors, exposure to cornmeal dust, cramped quarters including walk‑in cooler, hot surfaces/tools from ovens up to 500°F or higher, sharp edges, moving mechanical parts, and variable weather during driving.

Sensing

Talking and hearing on telephone; near and mid‑range vision for most in‑store tasks; depth perception; ability to differentiate between hot and cold surfaces; far vision and night vision required for driving.

Temperaments

Ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone and with others, work under stress, meet strict quality control standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, and make judgments and decisions.

Physical Requirements
  • Standing:
    Standing for most tasks; work surfaces 36–48".
  • Walking:
    Short distances for short durations; delivery personnel travel between the store and delivery vehicle and to the customer's location.
  • Sitting:
    Paperwork is completed at a desk or table.
  • Lifting:
    Bulk product deliveries are unloaded with a hand truck; cases of ingredients and supplies weigh up to 50 lbs with dimensions up to 3' x 1.5'; cases are lifted from floor and stacked onto shelves up to 72".
  • Carrying:
    Large cans (about 3 lb 7 oz) carried from workstation to storage shelves; occasional pizza sauce (about 30 lbs) from storage room to front of store; trays of pizza dough carried three at a time, about 12 lbs per tray; carry pizzas and beverages while walking and climbing.
  • Pushing:
    Move trays on dollies; stack of trays on dolly 24–30" requires up to 7.5 lbs push; trays may also be pulled.
  • Climbing:
    Infrequently navigate stairs or ladders to change signs, wash walls, perform maintenance; deliver product may require navigating five or more flights of stairs.
Additional Information
  • Stooping / Bending:
    Forward bending at the waist at pizza assembly station, front counter, and when stocking ingredients; duration 30–45 seconds continuously during the day.
  • Crouching / Squatting:
    Performed occasionally to stock shelves and clean low areas.
  • Reaching:
    Continuous reaching up, down, and forward; occasionally above 72" to turn oven controls or change sign prices; reaching down to scoop cornmeal or wash dishes; reaching forward for topping ingredients or answering phones.
  • Driving:
    Deliver pizzas within a designated delivery area; several deliveries per shift. A valid driver's license with a safe driving record and access to an insured vehicle are required.
  • Hand Tasks:
    Continuous use of hands; shaping pizza dough requires forearm and wrist effort; manipulating a pizza peel and rolling cutter; pinching required in assembling cardboard pizza boxes; grasping cans, phones, pizza cutter, peel, and boxes.
  • Machines, Tools, Equipment, Work Aids:
    Pencil/pens, computers, telephones, calculators, TDD equipment, pizza cutter, and pizza peel.
