Senior Heavy Civil Estimator

We are seeking an experienced Senior Heavy Civil Estimator with a strong background in underground utilities and infrastructure construction
. The ideal candidate will have at least 6 years of estimating experience and a solid understanding of heavy civil construction, quantity takeoffs, project plans, specifications, subcontractor pricing, and detailed cost estimating.

This is a primarily office-based position with occasional field visits, typically once per week or as project needs require.

• Prepare accurate and detailed quantity takeoffs and construction estimates
  .
• Review and interpret plans, specifications, geotechnical reports, bid forms, addenda, and other contract documents
  .
• Develop estimates for labor, equipment, materials, subcontractors, production rates, and crew costs
  .
• Solicit, review, and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations
  .
• Compare pricing and identify scope gaps, exclusions, and potential estimating risks
  .
• Develop competitive bids while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• Coordinate with project teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders as needed.
• Assist with estimating multiple projects and bid opportunities simultaneously.
• Conduct occasional field visits to better understand project conditions and requirements.

• Minimum 6 years of construction estimating experience

• Strong experience with underground utilities and heavy civil construction
  .
• Experience with:
• Dirt work and excavation
• Large-diameter water lines
• Sanitary sewer
• Storm sewer
• Lift stations
• Strong ability to perform detailed quantity takeoffs
  .
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical documents.
• Strong understanding of labor, equipment, material, subcontractor, production rate, and crew cost estimating
  .
• Ability to solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify scope gaps and discrepancies
  .
• Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.

• Experience in the Houston / Texas heavy civil construction market is strongly preferred.
• Experience with Plan Swift and VU 360 is preferred.
• Candidates may use their preferred estimating software if they have an established workflow.
