Description
Who is Harmar? We manufacture wheelchair lifts for automobiles, stair lifts for the home and residential and commercial vertical platform lifts. We sell to dealers and to the government. Work ScheduleMonday‑Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Two Fridays per month required OT).
Job Duties- Use a variety of hand & power tools, fixtures, blueprints, work instructions and test equipment to perform a series of operations to correctly assemble/test production assemblies and devices.
- Calibrate assemblies to meet tolerances, product specifications and work instructions.
- Work to achieve daily production schedule and to ensure the customer receives the highest quality product possible.
- Follow detailed assembly instructions, processes and procedures.
- Stand in a small space for a 10‑hour shift.
- Consistently lift/pack 50‑70 lbs.
- Report and/or record any problems with parts and/or final assembly product or process to lead person and/or production manager or quality assurance personnel.
- Provide hands‑on job function training to coworkers as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions (5S).
- Report component part shortages to the Manufacturing and Production Managers and the Purchasing Coordinator as soon as they are detected.
- Assess adequacy of component part stocking levels.
- Maintain established kanbans.
- Create plans for assembly procedures, following specifications and using knowledge gained by experience.
- Operate production line equipment of a level of complexity requiring the specified training or assembling products, units, machines, equipment, and/or subassemblies.
- Mount and connect mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic or hydraulic equipment, cut and fit pipe and tubing.
- Remove small quantities of metal using hand files or portable grinders to clean parts or to produce close fit between parts.
- Drill, tap, or ream holes using drill press or portable drill.
- Align components, and bolt, screw, or rivet them together using hand tools or portable powered tools.
- Install moving parts such as shafts, levers, or bearings, and work them to test free movement.
- Align and mesh gears in gearbox to assemble system of gears.
- Operate drill presses, punch presses, or riveting machines to assist in assembly operation.
- May test or assist in testing operation of completed product.
- Pack and build pallet to prepare product to ship out.
- Other duties/stations as assigned.
- Read/Write English (bilingual is a plus).
- Be able to complete and pass a background and drug test (including THC).
- Lean manufacturing environment experience is beneficial.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Hourly pay: $19.00.
- Hours:
6:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday – Thursday (Two to three Fridays required OT).
