Job Description
DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a Sr. Manager, Carbon / Energy Management, located in Raynham, MA or Warsaw, IN.
This role is available across multiple countries and may be posted under different requisition numbers to comply with local requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of carbon and energy management strategies aligned with DePuy Synthes sustainability goals and business priorities.
- Own enterprise‑level greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories, including Scope 1, 2, and relevant Scope 3 emissions, ensuring data quality, governance, and audit readiness.
- Partner with manufacturing sites and facilities teams to identify, prioritize, and implement energy efficiency and decarbonization projects.
- Establish performance metrics, targets, and dashboards to track progress on energy use, emissions reductions, and cost savings.
- Support external and internal sustainability reporting requirements, including regulatory disclosures and voluntary frameworks.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally to integrate carbon and energy considerations into capital planning, sourcing, and operational decision‑making.
- Monitor emerging regulations, standards, and best practices related to climate, energy, and environmental management, translating requirements into actionable plans.
- Influence and educate stakeholders through clear communication, change management, and governance forums.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Energy Management, or a related discipline.
- Master’s degree (e.g., Environmental Management, Sustainability, Engineering, MBA) preferred.
Required:
- Typically requires 8-10 years of progressive experience in sustainability, energy management, environmental programs, or related operational roles.
- Demonstrated experience managing carbon emissions inventories and energy performance programs in a complex, global organization.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into insights and strategic recommendations.
- Proven ability to lead cross‑functional initiatives and influence without direct authority.
- Experience working with manufacturing, facilities, or supply chain environments.
Preferred:
- Experience in the medical device, life sciences, or regulated manufacturing industry.
- Familiarity with global sustainability and climate frameworks (e.g., GHG Protocol, science‑based targets, CDP).
- Experience supporting energy efficiency projects, renewable energy procurement, or decarbonization roadmaps.
- Strong executive‑level communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Travel:
Limited; up to 20%, domestic and occasional international. - Certifications (preferred):
Certified Energy Manager (CEM), LEED, or similar sustainability/energy credentials.

- Vacation – 120 hours per calendar year

- Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays – 13 days per calendar year
- Work, Personal and Family Time – up to 40 hours per calendar year
- Parental Leave – 480 hours within one year of the birth/adoption/foster care of a child
- Bereavement Leave – 240 hours for an immediate family member; 40 hours for an extended family member per calendar year
- Caregiver Leave – 80 hours in a 52-week rolling period
10 days - Volunteer Leave – 32 hours per calendar year
