Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopedics business to establish a standalone orthopedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals.

DePuy Synthes (DPS) is recruiting for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, within the Joints Platform – Tech Ops (Technical Operations), Manufacturing Innovation team. Are you passionate about turning innovative ideas into real-world manufacturing excellence? This role serves as the primary driver of Manufacturing Innovations in all the Joints Supply Chain (J&J Med Tech) sites in America – currently Raynham and Warsaw, with Costa Rica coming online. The role is part of the Global Manufacturing Innovation (MI) organization and will be reporting to the Global Director of Manufacturing Innovation.

This position demands a hands‑on approach with a significant presence on site, ensuring active engagement and alignment with customer operations and internal innovation initiatives.

• Customer Engagement – Work hand‑in‑glove with site leadership to ensure that their frustrations and opportunities are fully understood. Actively monitor and analyze the manufacturing value streams for opportunities where innovation can make a direct and positive impact to the business.
• Manufacturing Solution Design and Delivery – Identify new opportunities and collaborate with other teams to formulate realistic, high‑impact innovation programs underpinned by strong return on investment, seeking alignment with key partners and customers.
• Best Value for Money – Develop fully costed and scheduled programs, secure funding and support for the project from initiation to implementation – from Technology Readiness Level, TRL 1 to TRL 9. Assess internal and external funding opportunities, including government funding and tax incentives, balancing risks and speed of delivery.
• Site Roadmap Ownership – Develop and be accountable for the sites' innovation roadmaps that deliver the required Key Performance Indicators, aligning innovations with site drivers so that a pipeline of impactful innovations is delivered to the site, year on year.
