BUSINESS SEPARATION STATEMENTJohnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopedics business to establish a standalone orthopedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals.
Should you accept this position, it is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, you would be an employee of DePuy Synthes and your employment would be governed by DePuy Synthes employment processes, programs, policies, and benefit plans. ROLESUMMARY
The Business Excellence Engineer will lead cross-functional continuous improvement initiatives from Define through Control using Lean Six Sigma methodology to deliver measurable business results (cost reduction, quality, throughput and lead time). This role will serve as project owner for medium-to-large capital and process improvement projects, partnering with site and functional leaders to design, implement, document and sustain operational excellence through visual management, standard work, data-driven problem solving and capability building.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Lead cross-functional continuous improvement projects from Define through Control using Lean Six Sigma methodology to deliver measurable business results (cost reduction, quality, throughput, lead time).
- Act as project owner for medium-to-large capital and process improvement projects: develop charters, build schedules, manage risks, track budgets and report status.
- Design and implement visual factory solutions (kanban, visual metrics, standardized work boards) and support site-wide deployment of 5S/6S and standard work.
- Use CAD tools to support process design, line layouts, tooling/fixture concepts and process simulations; create and revise technical drawings to support implementation.
- Coach, mentor and train employees and leaders on Lean, Six Sigma tools, problem solving (A3, PDCA) and change management to build internal capability.
