Job Summary

The DPS Global Tax Group is recruiting for a Director Tax Planning, based in Raynham, MA;
West Chester, PA;
Raritan, NJ; or Switzerland. The role is responsible for tax planning activities for global DPS Trauma, Spine and Mitek businesses and the Americas, with estimated $9‑10B net trade sales. The position reports to the Senior Director, Tax Planning and Disputes.

Responsibilities
  • Leadership Team member for the Tax Planning team, including participating in global enterprise tax meetings and succession planning and calibration meetings at the global enterprise level
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of one tax planning specialist
  • Develop and implement enterprise‑level, global tax planning strategies; including intercompany IP migrations and licensing, sourcing strategies and supply‑chain network planning, transformational projects, business model design, LER for relevant business unit and territory (Americas), assessing tax impact of supply‑chain network configuration exercises and driving tax optimization
  • Plan and integrate Licensing & Acquisition transactions including acquisitions, license agreements, collaboration agreements, distribution agreements, co‑promotion agreements and divestments for related DPS
  • Control and consolidate the global DPS ETR for business forecasts, quarterly results and long‑range financial plan, driving process improvements for accurate tax‑rate forecasting
  • Collaborate closely with the Tax Director Transfer Pricing on appropriate transfer pricing strategy for DPS, governance, analysis, monitoring, defense and documentation (including §6662 process management)
  • Provide tax audit support and deliver audit‑ready DPS Subcon documentation and sub‑F monitoring (Americas)
  • Support the enterprise tax control framework, FIN
    48 assessment and calculation, valuations, DAC6 reporting for DPS sector in‑scope transactions, and monitor Pillar2 impact while supporting P2 planning initiatives
  • Provide leadership of IT transformation projects in the Americas; collaborate with global tax and business partners to facilitate best‑in‑class planning and execution of tax planning strategies
  • Offer advice and support to global tax, trade, and business partners on supply‑chain tax planning, IP planning, intercompany service arrangements, transfer‑pricing policies, acquisitions, and divestiture transactions
  • Educate Finance and business partners on the impacts of global tax law changes and coordinate between tax and the business, involving outside advisors and co‑sourcing partners to respond to government requests for information, site visits, and interviews
Position Requirements
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting, Finance or Economics
  • Minimum of 10years of tax/business experience, including 5years of tax planning experience at an advisory firm or in‑house at a major multinational corporation
  • Excellent business partnering and communication skills—ability to communicate highly technical matters in clear simple language to business partners worldwide
  • Strong influencing and collaboration skills—partnering with multiple stakeholders across the enterprise and external partners, including a network of legal and economic advisors worldwide
  • Ability to develop talent and lead teams across the enterprise
