Job Description
DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a Legal Operations Manager located in Raynham, MA. The Legal Operations Manager supports the DePuy Synthes Legal Organization by managing systems, data, and software applications to execute core functions, including outside vendor relationships and payments, matter, knowledge and training management, contracting systems and archives, departmental communications, litigation support tools, and budgeting. The role supports the General Counsel in improving operational efficiency, enabling data‑driven decision‑making, managing outside counsel and vendor costs, and optimizing technological tools, including AI applications, and supporting special projects.
The role enables the Legal Organization to focus on strategic work through streamlined systems, managing legal technology and vendors, and supporting financial and performance objectives.

Key Responsibilities- Support day‑to‑day legal operations activities, including matter management, intake processes, payment systems and training resources.
- Assist with management of legal spend, budgeting, forecasting and invoice review in partnership with Finance.
- Support implementation and ongoing use of legal technology tools (e.g., matter management, e‑billing, contract lifecycle systems).
- Coordinate with and oversee outside counsel and other vendors, including onboarding, performance tracking and compliance with billing guidelines.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and metrics on Legal Organization operations as requested.
- Support process improvement initiatives to optimize legal output, including use of alternate legal service providers, right‑shoring and technology, including automated legal services or AI.
- Assist with development and maintenance of Legal Organization policies.
Education
- Bachelor's degree required (Business Administration, Legal Studies, Finance, Operations, or related field preferred).
Required Experience and Skills
- 6-8 years of experience supporting Legal operations, Legal departments, or similar professional services operations.
- Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Experience working with data, reports and metrics to support operational decision‑making.
- Proficiency with common business tools (Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint) and comfort learning new systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and compliance.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with legal matter management, e‑billing, or contract lifecycle management systems.
- Experience supporting outside counsel management and legal spend analytics.
- Experience with soliciting vendors through RFPs and RFIs.
- Experience driving or supporting process improvement initiatives.
- Familiarity or experience with project management methodologies or tools.
- Certifications:
Legal Operations or Project Management certifications preferred but not required.
Anticipated base pay range: $102,000 - $204,000 USD.
