DFI Specialist – Job Description
Location: Raynham, Massachusetts, United States of America
Responsibilities- Present business related issues or opportunities to the next management level.
- Ensure personal and company compliance with all federal, state, local, and company regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Advise NPD and LCM project teams on design for inspection requirements.
- Use DFI tools as SME for inspection, GD&T, gage design and automated inspection technologies to drive DFI discussions during internal and external drawing reviews.
- Troubleshoot and problem‑solve quality issues using basic research and analysis techniques.
- Act as technical resource and go‑to person for quality issues in the assigned area.
- Recommend new inspection methods as required.
- Conduct training on inspection methods.
- Program and operate automated inspection equipment (CMM, Keyence, Sylvac, etc.).
- Perform routine and complex inspections using technical documents to verify products and services meet quality and engineering requirements.
- Qualify automated and non‑automated inspection methods with external vendors (travel as needed) per local procedures.
- Ensure inspectability of all dimensions in drawings.
- Review GD&T and evaluate inspection requirements.
- Assess feature criticality and gage requirements.
- Use GD&T accurately.
- Provide input on alternative design structures to accommodate inspection.
- Guide on inspection methods.
- Evaluate tolerance versus inspection technique and equipment.
- Ensure accurate layout of dimensions.
- Verify datum structure and accurate repeatability.
- Ensure drawings stand on their own without interpretation of intent.
- Ensure drawing views meet internal and industry standards.
- Ensure all features are fully and accurately dimensioned.

Base pay range: $92,000.00 – $.
