We are searching for the best talent for a Group Manager, Shoulder R&D to join our J&J Orthopaedics team (DePuy Synthes). This position is based in Raynham MA. Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals.

The team is working on highly differentiated projects across the shoulder reconstruction continuum, with opportunities to influence implant design, instrumentation, digital and enabling technology integration, surgeon-facing workflows, and platform strategies that can shape the future of shoulder care.

The Group Manager, Shoulder R&D will lead a high-performing engineering team focused on advancing differentiated shoulder reconstruction solutions for DePuy Synthes. This role is responsible for shaping and executing the technical strategy for a portfolio that includes shoulder implants, instruments, enabling technologies, and next‑generation product platforms designed to improve surgeon experience and patient outcomes. The leader will guide managers and individual contributors in a matrixed environment;

translate clinical, customer, and business needs into robust design requirements; and drive disciplined execution from concept development through design verification, validation, launch readiness, and commercialization.
