Job Overview

Senior Sales Consultant – Orthopaedics (Commission) – Med Tech Sales.

Location:

Chattanooga, Tennessee (Rome, TN territory).The role focuses on developing and fostering new surgeon and account relationships for DePuy Synthes orthopaedic products.

• Prospect and qualify potential surgeons and accounts; create and execute surgeon‑specific plans and selling strategies to generate sales.
• Achieve business plan objectives and sales quotas through the use of approved resources.
• Drive product sales for assigned products within the territory or named accounts, using product and customer knowledge to present, demonstrate, and ensure proper utilization.
• Build effective customer relationships with key surgeons, operating room personnel, and other relevant hospital staff.
• Maintain contact with prospects and newly converted customers during surgical cases, providing support and education during in‑services and workshops.
• Serve customers as a problem solver, maintaining excellent response times and follow‑up.
• Manage JnJ sales equipment and promotional materials, keeping them in proper condition and using them to support territory efforts.
• Promote new or special emphasis products and strategic selling objectives, balancing the product mix in the territory.
• Identify and address competitive threats as appropriate.

• Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 3 years of professional experience, or Associate degree/Medical Certification (CST, PT, etc.) with 5 years of professional experience, or Minimum of 8 years of professional experience.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license.
• Ability to travel, including weekend and/or overnight travel.
• Residence in or ability to relocate to the posted territory.
• Able to work in a lab/operating room environment.
• Strong interpersonal communication, influencing, critical thinking, problem‑solving, and data analysis skills.
• Results orientation, prioritization, and ability to work independently and autonomously.
• Experience with partnership and collaboration in a complex reporting structure.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Functional knowledge of human anatomy and physiology, basic knowledge of surgery, and strong technical product knowledge of surgical instruments, procedures, protocols, and solutions preferred.
