** About the Urgent Care Program
** The Behavioral Health Urgent Care Clinic (BHUCC) is the first program of it's kind in the Kansas City area that provides the community immediate, same-day access to psychiatric medication for mental health and substance use needs. Through a multi-disciplinary approach, the BHUCC team provides care to clients every day of the week, including evenings, weekends and holidays to meet the client's and community's needs.
** What You'll Do
*** Complete initial assessment/history on all clients entering treatment.
* Strategically use assessment information to make an appropriate clinical evaluation of client's current conditions in a timely manner. This includes (but not limited to) making appropriate referrals, consulting with physician, and/or educating the client as appropriate.
* Educate client and families on symptoms, medications and side effects.
* Provide a welcoming approach towards all clients, visitors and guests from a trauma informed approach.
* Collect and maintain information about clients and document interactions within ReDiscover’s designated electronic medical record.
* Communicate and collaborate with an internal multi-disciplinary team to address various aspects of wellness and ensure positive communication regarding the coordination of client care.
** Requirements of the Position
*** Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
* Active Missouri license as a Registered Nurse (or the ability to practice as an RN in the state of Missouri).
* At least two (2) years clinical experience in a direct service provision in a mental health setting preferred.
* Knowledge of the community resources as well as health and social service systems in the Kansas City metro area and skill in establishing working relationships with community partners preferred.
* Excellent customer service skills with a recovery focus.
* Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
* Intermediate computer skills in typing/keyboarding, Microsoft Word and Excel programs as well as use of email.
** Schedule Requirements
*** Full-time position, consisting of three (3) 12-hour shifts each week, plus one (1) 8-hour shift every other week.
* Urgent Care operates seven (7) days per week and is open 24 hours a day; candidates must be available to work rotating weekends and holidays as needed.
