Description
Groom Construction is searching for a highly skilled Commercial Construction Superintendent to oversee commercial projects valued at up to $40M. This role requires hands‑on supervision and coordination of all field operations to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget. The ideal candidate should have significant commercial construction experience, ideally in the greater Boston area, and a proven history of successfully delivering projects worth between $5M and $40M.
Strong leadership, effective communication skills, a solid safety record, and knowledge of OSHA regulations are essential, along with being a reliable team player.
- Collaborate with engineers, subcontractors, and stakeholders to identify project needs.
- Establish performance goals and timelines.
- Develop and plan construction processes efficiently.
- Monitor project costs, including tracking employee hours and changes.
- Supervise project staff and provide constructive feedback.
- Continuously monitor and report on project progress.
- Schedule inspections and secure necessary construction permits.
- Enforce safety and quality standards on‑site.
- Order equipment and coordinate regular maintenance.
- Manage material stock and coordinate orders.
- Ensure job site remains safe, clean, and organized.
- Quickly resolve on‑site issues and emergencies.
At least 5 years of construction management experience, leading various commercial projects valued between $1M and $40M.
- Current MA Construction Supervisor License.
- OSHA 30 certification.
- In‑depth knowledge of current building and construction codes.
- Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication, and problem‑solving abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and experienced with Pro Core project management software.
