Austin Preparatory School is seeking a skilled and compassionate Literacy Instructor to join our Student Integrated Learning Program. This position focuses on providing targeted, evidence-based reading instruction to students with Dyslexia and other Language-Based Learning Disabilities.

The Literacy Instructor will provide specialized support through small groups and one-to-one instruction, using structured literacy approaches such as Orton-Gillingham and Wilson Reading System
. The Literacy Instructor will work closely with classroom teachers, academic support staff, and families to support student progress and promote a nurturing, inclusive learning environment aligned with Augustinian values of truth, unity, and love.

Key Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Education, Special Education, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Certification or advanced training in structured literacy programs (e.g.,
    Orton-Gillingham
    , Wilson Reading System
    ).
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working with students with reading difficulties or language-based learning disabilities.
  • Strong understanding of literacy development, dyslexia, and intervention best practices.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • A commitment to student-centered instruction and continuous professional growth.
  • Experience in special education or inclusive settings supporting language-based learning disabilities.
