Job Description
Starting Pay: $20/hour + tips | Part-Time:
Approximately 10–15 hours per week to start, with potential to grow to 20–25 hours per week

HAIR BY JUSTINE is looking for a reliable, motivated Salon Assistant to join my busy, established salon in Reading, MA.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a professional salon environment, takes pride in their work, and is especially confident with blow-drying and styling hair
.

The position will begin at approximately 10–15 hours per week
. As your skills develop and I am confident in your ability to independently provide a beautiful, polished blow-dry for my clients, there is an opportunity for the position to grow to approximately 20–25 hours per week
.

Every week may look slightly different depending on the salon schedule, so some flexibility is important.

Candidates must have availability within the following days/hours:

• Wednesday: 10:00 AM–7:00 PM
• Thursday: 10:00 AM–7:00 PM
• Friday: 10:00 AM–7:00 PM
• Saturday: 9:00 AM–2:00 PM

You will not necessarily be scheduled for all of these hours each week, but availability during these days is required.

• Shampooing and conditioning clients
• Providing professional blow-dries and styling
• Assisting with color and foil services where permitted
• Preparing clients and stations for services
• Mixing color and assisting with salon setup
• Cleaning and sanitizing stations, tools, bowls, and salon areas
• Keeping the salon organized and running smoothly
• Helping with client checkout and other salon support as needed
• Providing clients with a warm, professional experience

• Strong blow-drying skills are very important for this position
• Massachusetts cosmetology license required
• Dependable and punctual
• Professional appearance and attitude
• Friendly and comfortable interacting with clients
• Able to take direction and accept feedback
• Detail-oriented and organized
• Willing to learn and improve
• Comfortable working in a busy salon environment
• Someone who takes initiative rather than waiting to be told what needs to be done

HAIR BY JUSTINE is an established, private salon in Reading specializing in customized hair color, blonding, and beautiful, natural-looking hair. I have a large, established clientele and am looking for an assistant who wants to become an important part of the salon and grow in the position over time.

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants hands-on salon experience, enjoys working closely with clients, and is serious about developing their skills.
