Key Job Responsibilities- Develop and maintain novel robotic systems
- Contribute to the architectural design of complex systems and collaborate with peers and other teams to find solutions to challenging problems
- Provide valuable feedback during peer reviews and effectively communicate with technical leadership
- Develop new and innovative solutions in a fast‑paced R&D environment
- Engineer solutions that balance top‑notch performance and reliability, continually elevating both
- Master various components including networking and WiFi, security, navigation, obstacle detection, motor control, robot control, functional safety control, and diverse sensors
An Embedded Software Engineer will work with cross‑functional teams to develop, test, and debug complex modern robotic systems. The processes include participating in design discussions, brainstorming novel approaches to difficult problems in robotics, implementing new product concepts and features, writing automated tests to validate features, and conducting live testing to debug and root‑cause issues.
Basic Qualifications- 5+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
- High level of proficiency with C/C++ and Python
- Hands‑on system experience with Linux, including device drivers and multicore systems
- Proven experience diagnosing and debugging complex, difficult, multi‑variable system issues
- Hands‑on experience with embedded or real‑time operating systems, such as FreeRTOS, RT Linux or Micrium
- Successfully performed as a team member or technical lead on a complex project
- Architecture or development of robotic control systems
- Performed low‑level board bring‑up or developed HAL code or BSPs for custom hardware
- Exposure to networking, communications systems, and data security
- Understanding of RF and wireless communications, especially 802.11
- Hands‑on development with sensors such as cameras, 3D‑TOF sensors, or other vision systems
- Experience developing safety‑certified systems, especially experience with IEC 61508
- Experience handling and analyzing large data sets and with AWS
