Job Description:

Join Pitney Bowes for a CDL A Truck Driver, Floater for our Reading, Pennsylvania Presort Services facility. This is a full-time job where you will receive 40 hours per week with the possibility of overtime.

Your hourly pay will be $29 paid weekly with the possibility of overtime.

This is for a floater position. You will provide coverage across multiple routes and 1st, 2nd and 3rd shift schedules. Here is an example of several route schedules:1st shift:
The route can start between 3:45AM – 10AM and end between 12PM – 5PM2nd shift:
The route can start after 10AM3rd shift:
The route can start at 8:15PM and ends around 3:30

AMThere are routes that start earlier and end later than the routes listed. This role encompasses 25 routes for all 3 shifts.

You will support driver vacations, unplanned coverage needs, and ad hoc customer pickups. The position requires flexibility and the ability to operate several types of vehicles as operational demands change such as tractor‑trailers, straight trucks, and vans.

Your local delivery areas include but not limited to the following states:
Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, New York, and Delaware.

For your safety and support, you will be paired with a Ride-Along associate during your shift.

What You Will Do:

Inspect assigned vehicles per the Pitney Bowes Presort Services pre-trip inspection guidelines and procedures daily. Report any defective findings to the Transportation Supervisor to be for repairs immediately.

Maintain a daily driver’s log or route sheet for mileage, stops and cargo, or utilization of ELD system.

Maintain pickup and delivery schedules meeting deadlines utilizing software tools.

Keep vehicles and work areas clean.

Returns client damaged or undeliverable mail, following internal handling procedures for damaged secured mail.

Know and understand safety, security precautions and follow company policies.

Maintains regular attendance

Use all required cell phone applications.

You Will Bring:

Minimum 21 years in age.

Valid Class A License and meet applicable DOT requirements for CDL.Minimum of 6-months of verifiable driving experience in the last five years driving a Tractor Trailer (Semi) truck with safe driving record. You will also drive a Straight truck and Sprinter Van.

Ability to lift at least 50 lbs., walk, stand, stoop and bend with or without accommodations.

Must have the ability to work mandatory overtime that may include weekends, holidays and or a different shift with little or no advance notice.

Candidates must have a basic enough understanding of English to be able to understand and follow safety and other operational directions communicated in English, irrespective of their native language.

Pitney Bowes Presort Services performs mail sorting; performing some of the work that would typically be performed by the USPS. For completing this work, Presort Services receives discounted postage rates. By performing this sorting work on behalf of our clients, we are able to share a portion of that discount with them. Our national network of operating centers processes over 17 billion pieces of mail annually.

We provide mailers with end-to-end solutions from pick-up at their location into delivery into the postal system network, providing optimal postage savings.
