Job Overview

This is paraprofessional level accounting work preparing, adjusting, maintaining, and reviewing financial records.

The work involves recording financial data relating to costs, expenditures, and receivables; compiling such data, and preparing written reports summarizing accounting transactions.

Employees in this class may receive instruction and increasingly more difficult assignments in preparation for accounting work at the full performance level. Employees in the class report to either a technical or administrative superior.

• Record and adjust financial data for costs, expenditures, and receivables.
• Compile financial information and prepare written reports summarizing accounting transactions.

• Associate’s degree program at an accredited college or university with credit hours in accounting, or completion of the equivalent of the twelfth school grade.
• Two years of work experience as an Account Clerk or Clerk 3 (Fiscal).
• Presently employed by the City of Philadelphia with permanent Civil Service status in the Office of the Controller, and a performance rating of Satisfactory or higher.
