Construction Accounts Receivable & Job Cost Administrator

Pipersville, PA
Salary: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00
Position Description
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable & Job Cost Specialist to join our growing team. This position plays a critical role in supporting the financial operations of our construction projects by managing accounts receivable functions, monitoring job costs, and preparing key project financial reports. The ideal candidate will have strong construction accounting experience and a thorough understanding of project billing, job costing, and work-in-progress reporting.
Key ResponsibilitiesA/R:
- Billing & Invoicing: Prepare and process monthly progress billings (e.g., AIA documents), time-and-material invoices.
- Lien Waivers & Retainage: Create and submit conditional and unconditional lien waivers. Track and bill withheld retainage.
- Collections: Monitor aging reports, contact general contractors or clients for past-due amounts, and resolve payment discrepancies.
- Cash Posting: Code, apply, and reconcile daily incoming payments (checks, wire transfers, ACH).
- Project Support: Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure accurate job costing and unbilled revenue tracking.
Job Costing:
- Job Cost Tracking: Monitor daily/weekly costs of raw materials (pipe, ductwork, HVAC equipment), equipment rentals, and direct labor.
- Variance Analysis: Identify discrepancies between estimated costs and actual incurred costs (e.g., material price escalation, labor overruns).
- WIP (Work In Progress) Reporting: Calculate and prepare monthly WIP reports, recognizing revenue and gross margins accurately based on the percentage-of-completion method.

Position Requirements
Required Qualifications- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience
, preferably within the construction industry. - Strong knowledge of construction billing, job costing, WIP reporting, retainage, and lien waiver processes.
- Experience with Trimble Vista Viewpoint strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with Project Managers, Operations, and customers.
