TAX ACCOUNTANT - Entry Level
Reading, PA
$70,000- $75,000
A growing and well-established CPA firm is seeking a Tax Accountant to join its team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent Accounting or Finance graduate who is interested in building a long-term career in tax accounting and public accounting.
No prior public accounting experience is required. The firm is willing to train a motivated new graduate and provide hands-on exposure to individual and business tax engagements, with a clear path for professional growth and advancement.
OVERVIEW OF THE TAX ACCOUNTANT ROLE:
- Assist with the preparation of federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and businesses
- Support tax research and analysis under the guidance of experienced CPAs
- Prepare work papers, schedules, and supporting documentation for tax engagements
- Assist with tax planning and compliance projects
- Work with financial statements and accounting records to identify relevant tax information
- Communicate with clients to gather information and resolve basic questions
- Assist senior accountants and CPAs throughout tax season and during year-round client engagements
- Develop an understanding of current tax laws, regulations, and accounting practices
- Take on increasing responsibility as technical knowledge and experience grow
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE TAX ACCOUNTANT:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Recent graduates are encouraged to apply
- Internship or coursework related to tax/public accounting is a plus, but not required
- Strong interest in pursuing a career in tax and public accounting
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail
