Position Title: Placement Testing Center Assistant Temporary Pool
Department: Admissions

Additional Information: If you are a PSERS retiree, per PSERS guidelines, employment as an adjunct faculty member will result in the suspension of your retirement benefits by PSERS. This is a temporary part-time 25 hours/week position with option for medical benefits at full employee cost.
Work hours for hourly positions: Consists of a 25-hour workweek Monday through Saturday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Work evenings and Saturdays will be required.
General SummaryThe Placement Testing Center Assistant serves as the primary placement test proctor and oversees the testing center during posted hours of operation. This assistant performs all duties related to test administration and coordination of the testing center and provides administrative support for the enrollment services area as needed.
Education and/or Experience- High School Diploma
- Minimum of two years previous student service or customer service experience
- Ability to work with students of all abilities
- Associate degree from an accredited college or university
- At least one-year experience in a higher education or testing environment
- Prior experience working with a diverse population
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals and to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
Computer SkillsProficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Internet skills; knowledge of Accuplacer or other administrative software is a plus.
OtherSkills and Abilities
Excellent communication, public speaking, interpersonal, and written communication skills; knowledge of the Community College and Higher Education system.
DutiesCurrent criminal record and child abuse clearances are required. The three clearances are Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Records Check, and Federal Bureau of Investigation Criminal Background Check.
