Position OverviewThis Administrative Assistant 1 position with Wayne County Children & Youth Services supports staff in data entry, system utilization, and report preparation across multiple agency processes, including fiscal responsibilities. The role promotes safer children, successful adolescents, stronger parents, sound families, and supportive communities, and offers an excellent benefits package within a positive, team-oriented environment.
Job Responsibilities- Coordinate records documentation and file maintenance, organize and update provider resources, and facilitate internal program monitoring.
- Schedule meetings and prepare training and onboarding materials.
- Serve as technical lead for the Agency’s imaging database, scanning and uploading documents, entering data into the Statewide Adoption Network portal, and monitoring incidents through a tracking system.
- Manage contract‑related details: track contracts, generate yearly contracts with updated information, and ensure proper execution with supporting documentation, collaborating with fiscal personnel to ensure reimbursement accuracy.
- Full‑time employment.
- Work hours 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday–Friday, with a 30‑minute lunch. Irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, may be required.
- Occasional overnight or out‑of‑county travel for meetings or training.
- No telework option.
- Starting salary may be non‑negotiable.
- Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Graduation from a four‑year college or university; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Other Requirements:
- Must meet the PA residency requirement.
- Must be able to perform essential job functions.
- Must pass a background investigation.
- A conditional offer of employment requires a drug screening.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law:
- Conditional offer requires submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
- Pennsylvania law (51 Pa. C.S. § 7103) provides employment preference for qualified veterans for many state and local government jobs.
