of Work
This position supports the statewide registry of vital events by assisting the public and processing important records. The role requires strong attention to detail and the ability to manage sensitive information responsibly. As a Clerical Assistant 3, you will perform the following duties:
- Record Processing:
Examine applications and enter information into the vital statistics system - Public Guidance:
Provide advice to applicants on requirements and procedures for vital event records - Confidentiality Care:
Protect sensitive information and apply discretion during all interactions - Issue Resolution:
Evaluate documents and determine next steps when eligibility or information is unclear - Fraud Prevention:
Review applications and records for signs of fraudulent activity and report concerns - Operational Support:
Assist with training, reporting, and emergency response tasks as needed

Work Schedule and Additional InformationYou will not have the option to telework in this position
In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable
- One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- One year of moderately complex clerical experience; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
