Unit Clerk for Long-Term Care
We are excited to announce the opening of a new opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate Unit Clerk to join our team at Complete Care at Berkshire in Reading, Pennsylvania. As a Unit Clerk, you will play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of our long-term care facility, working closely with our nursing staff and residents to ensure exceptional care and services.
About the Role:
Unit Clerk
As a Unit Clerk, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to our nursing team, assisting with resident care, and maintaining accurate records and charts. Your duties will include:
- Greeting and assisting residents, families, visitors, and staff in a professional and courteous manner
- Answering and directing phone calls, taking messages, and relaying information to appropriate staff
- Maintaining and updating resident charts, medical records, and unit logs according to facility policies and HIPAA regulations
- Assisting with admission, transfer, and discharge documentation, as well as preparing, filing, and distributing forms and reports as needed
- Supporting nursing staff by transcribing physician orders and ensuring timely communication of updates
- Coordinating resident appointments and transportation when necessary, and monitoring inventory of unit supplies and submitting requisitions as needed
- Providing administrative support to the Nurse Manager and clinical team as required
- Upholding confidentiality and compliance with all regulatory standards and company policies
Requirements:
Unit Clerk
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- CNA Certification a PLUS!
- Previous clerical/administrative experience in a healthcare or long-term care setting preferred
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with nursing staff, residents, and families
- Compassionate, professional, and able to maintain confidentiality at all times
- Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities in a busy healthcare environment
