Are you a highly organized professional who would enjoy supporting a busy state park by keeping operations running smoothly and ensuring visitors are informed? As an Administrative Assistant 1 with the Department of Conservation & Natural Resources (DCNR), you will play a key role in ensuring that the Presque Isle State Park Complex is fully functional and ready for guests. You will assist managers, help run daily administrative tasks, and be a vital component in keeping the park organized and efficient.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supports administrative operations for the Presque Isle State Park Complex, including human resources, procurement, budgeting, public contact, and clerical guidance. Your work will involve detailed decision-making, effective communication, and coordination across multiple park programs.

  • Administrative Support:
    Study operations, prepare reports, assist with policy changes, and manage office services
  • Public Interaction:
    Gather information, resolve concerns, communicate clearly with visitors and employees
  • Procurement Tasks:
    Prepare bids, process purchase orders, reconcile invoices, and coordinate vendor activities
  • Budget Monitoring:
    Track expenditures, prepare estimates, analyze fiscal reports, and advise management
  • Human Resources:
    Coordinate hiring lists, handle employee documents, manage personnel files, and process travel paperwork
  • Timekeeping Oversight:
    Review time input, guide timekeepers, correct payroll errors, and maintain employee records

Work Schedule and Additional Information
  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with a 30-minute lunch. Work will be scheduled 37.5 hours/5 days per week, and will include holidays and weekends as necessary.
  • Occasional overtime may be required for training or emergency situations.
  • Telework:
    You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary:

    In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Required Experience, Training & Eligibility QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements
  • Such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four year college or university or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
