Operations Manager
The Department of Corrections, State Correctional Institution (SCI) Frackville is seeking an energetic, motivated person with experience in the safe operation of an institution utility plant.
Responsibilities- Boiler Operation: Monitor and adjust two 800 HP boilers during routine and emergency conditions
- Equipment Maintenance: Complete scheduled and unscheduled upkeep, inspections, and minor repairs on plant systems
- Water Testing: Conduct water chemistry tests and track chemical inventories and records
- Work Crew Oversight: Direct inmate workers, monitor movement, and maintain safety and tool control
- Plant Upkeep: Carry out general housekeeping tasks and maintain daily logs and documentation
- Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
- Work hours to be determined
- This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55
- Telework: This position does not allow telework
- Salary: New employees receive a starting annual salary of $47,925.00 (before taxes); a higher salary may be established in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three years of experience in the operation, maintenance, and repair of a steam or hot water generating plant, or a steam and electric generating plant; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training
Additional Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required
- You must be able to perform essential job functions

- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements
