Piper Companies is seeking a Contract Senior GFD Project Manager – Cold Dark Shell Development to join a leading organization in the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry. The role acts as the owner’s representative and lead delivery of a large‑scale cold dark shell facility within a parenteral manufacturing campus, ensuring alignment with safety, quality, schedule, and cost objectives while enabling future manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities- Lead overall project execution, including governance, strategy development, and coordination of cross‑functional teams (engineering, construction, procurement, and stakeholders) while driving decisions, resolving issues, and maintaining executive reporting.
- Oversee site development and infrastructure (roads, utilities, stormwater, electrical, and campus integration) alongside design and construction management of structural systems, foundations, building envelope, and fit‑out readiness.
- Manage project performance across cost, schedule, risk, procurement, and contractor oversight, ensuring compliance with safety standards, contract expectations, and quality objectives while implementing mitigation and recovery strategies as needed.
- Coordinate with future manufacturing teams and executive leadership to ensure facility readiness, long‑term expansion alignment, and successful stakeholder engagement throughout the project lifecycle.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related technical discipline.
- 15+ years of capital project management experience and 10+ years leading large‑scale industrial, pharmaceutical, life sciences, manufacturing, or commercial construction projects.
- Proven experience managing projects exceeding $250 MM in capital value with strong expertise in project controls, contracting strategies, construction execution, and governance processes.
- Preferred experience in pharmaceutical or advanced manufacturing environments, greenfield developments, shell/core construction, and delivery models such as design‑build, EPCM, or CM at‑risk, with PMP certification as a plus.
- Demonstrated leadership, stakeholder management, business acumen, and communication skills with the ability to manage complex, multi‑disciplinary teams and competing priorities.
- $140,000 – $175,000
