Join Our Team as a Forensic Pathologist Pathology Anatomic and Clinical

Are you a dedicated forensic pathology professional seeking a rewarding opportunity to impact public safety and justice? We are seeking a highly skilled Forensic Pathologist to perform crucial autopsies at Reading Hospital, contributing to vital forensic investigations.

This role offers a unique chance to work on diverse cases, collaborate with a dedicated team, and advance your career within a supportive environment.

Responsibilities include conducting house autopsies and coroner autopsies for forensic cases, primarily at Reading Hospital. The schedule is variable, aligned with incoming cases from the county, requiring flexibility. Specific dates for coverage include February 5-19, 2026;
May 17-23, 2026;
June 8-28, 2026; and a one-week period in October (dates to be confirmed). Candidates should be prepared to adapt to fluctuating workload hours.

Required Skills:
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
  • Board certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology
  • Valid state medical license in the relevant jurisdiction
  • Proven experience in forensic autopsies and death investigations
  • Strong understanding of legal and medico-legal procedures
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Nice to Have

Skills:
  • Previous experience with coroner or forensic autopsy cases
  • Certification in Forensic Pathology (Fellowship)
  • Familiarity with forensic pathology software and documentation tools
  • Ability to collaborate with law enforcement and legal professionals
Preferred

Education and Experience:
  • Medical degree (MD or DO)
  • At least 3 years of post-residency experience in forensic pathology
  • Prior experience working within hospital-based forensic teams or medical examiner offices
Other Requirements:
  • Willingness to work irregular hours based on case volume
  • Credentialing completed prior to start date
  • Ability to travel as needed for consultations or case investigations
  • Commitment to maintaining professional licensure and certifications
Compensation is offered at a rate of $1.00 per hour, with competitive benefits including weekly pay via direct deposit, comprehensive medical coverage (W-2), paid sick time, and reimbursements for licensure, certifications, travel, and related expenses.
