About the Position
Pathology - Anatomic and Clinical - Forensic Pathology
Join our prestigious team as a Forensic Pathologist specializing in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, playing a vital role in forensic investigations at Reading Hospital. This opportunity offers a unique chance to contribute to crucial autopsy procedures, including house autopsies and coroner autopsies, supporting the justice system and advancing medical knowledge in forensic pathology. Your expertise will be essential in providing thorough autopsy services, ensuring accurate cause-of-death determinations, and supporting legal proceedings.
Ideal candidates are highly skilled professionals with a strong background in forensic pathology, committed to meticulous examination and documentation. You will be instrumental in handling diverse cases with sensitivity and precision, ensuring comprehensive reports that support legal processes.
Required Skills:
Medical degree (MD/DO) with certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology.
Valid medical license and board certification in forensic pathology.
Experience in performing forensic autopsies, including house and coroner autopsies.
Strong knowledge of legal and medical documentation standards.
Excellent communication skills for report writing and collaboration with law enforcement agencies.
Ability to work independently under briefed criteria and adapt to varying case complexities.
Nice to Have
Skills:
Experience with trauma cases and complex forensic investigations.
Proficiency with forensic pathology software or electronic record-keeping systems.
Prior work in hospital-based forensic pathology settings.
Bilingual abilities to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
Preferred
Education and Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of post-residency forensic pathology experience.
Experience working with coroners, law enforcement, and legal teams.
Strong track record of autopsy performance and detailed reporting.
Other Requirements:
Availability to cover specified dates:
February 5-19, 2026;
May 17-23, 2026;
June 8-28, 2026; and a one-week slot in October (dates TBD).
Willingness to handle shift variability based on forensic case volume.
Valid state medical license and applicable certifications.
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to legal and ethical standards.
Travel reimbursements and licensure/credentialing support provided.
