About the Role
Ready to make music and make a difference? We’re looking for flexible, creative, and responsible musicians to teach in‑home lessons on piano, voice, guitar, and more to kids of all ages and skill levels. No teaching experience? No problem – we’ll train you.
Our StorySince 1990, Meridee Winters School of Music has inspired thousands of Main Line students with convenient and creative in‑home music lessons. Our playful yet practical approach is customized for each student’s personality and interests. Meridee’s method offers a unique mix of innovative and user‑friendly materials, including over 600 resources: dynamic games, skill drills, creative activities, songwriting labs, and lesson books. You’ll get training and access to these as a teacher of the school.
What We Offer- Flexible hours and schedule (great for those with daytime commitments or who gig on the weekends)
- Monthly driving stipend for traveling to students’ homes
- Friendly and supportive office staff
- Access to fun and engaging materials and games
- Exclusive training on the MW Music Method
- W‑2 payroll employment (no arm‑and‑leg tax surprises)
- Connection to a warm, welcoming community of talented and creative musicians
- Opportunity to work with amazing, supportive Main Line families
Our ideal candidate has
- Several years of musical training/experience with at least basic piano skills (our most popular instrument)
- Ability to sight‑read music at a basic level (we can send sample music for evaluation)
- Passion and enthusiasm for working with kids – teaching experience is not required as we train
- Access to a reliable vehicle for traveling to students’ homes
We offer W‑2 employment, flexible scheduling, monthly driving stipends, access to engaging teaching resources, and a supportive community of musicians within the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance.
