Position

Educational Consultant (Math) – Per Diem – Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This is NOT a remote position. Must live within 30 miles of the posting city.

Hours & Schedule

Per Diem consultants are scheduled on an as‑needed basis, paid hourly. Professional development usually scheduled with partners during normal school hours. Peak times:
August–October and January–February; however, service occurs throughout the year.

Location & Travel

Position based in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area. Supports districts throughout the Midwest, PA, and WV. Candidate must live in, near, or be open to relocating to the Philadelphia area. Own transportation required; travel up to 80% of time, including overnight stays and use of car, plane, or public transportation.

Compensation & Benefits

Competitive hourly rate starting at $65/hour. Additional compensation for preparation, co‑facilitation, internal meetings, travel, and other required activities. Company‑provided laptop, mileage reimbursement, and ability to keep travel points for flights and hotels booked for work‑related travel.

The Impact You'll Have
  • Become an expert on the company's online diagnostic and instruction program, focusing on Mathematics.
  • Serve teachers in the classroom by coordinating on‑site product training and professional learning courses for teachers and school administrators.
  • Adjust professional learning workshops within specified parameters to fit participants' needs.
  • Help ensure equity in the classroom by delivering professional learning courses to teachers, coaches, and leaders on how to effectively implement Ready and i‑Ready to impact classroom learning.
  • Meet teachers where they are and provide tailored on‑site support, ranging from lesson planning and pacing support, to analyzing data and applying it to instruction, to working with leaders to identify evidence of implementation successes and challenges.
  • Engage in internal cycle of professional improvement and development (including being observed, receiving feedback, and being coached).
  • Track and submit detailed training notes and complete all assignments promptly.
  • Present a professional image at all times to customers and prospects.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and at least 2+ years of experience teaching Mathematics.
  • Background in teaching mathematics at the secondary (6–12) level or a Bachelor's in Mathematics or Math education.
  • Strong working knowledge of State Standards for Mathematics for grades K‑8 (content and practice standards).
  • Preferably knowledge of ELA Standards for K‑8.
  • Fluency with digital tools, including online assessments, and high comfort discussing and applying data.
  • Understanding of adult learning principles to apply to professional learning.
  • Excellent facilitation, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Proficient on Office programs (Outlook, Word, PPT) and online meeting programs (e.g., Zoom/Web Ex).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of an educational cohort.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
