Summary of position:
Provide an optimal instructional program and learning environment for students who are deaf and hard-of-hearing
Job Responsibilities (see attached job description for additional details):
- Work closely with students, parents, teachers, administrators, support staff and other agencies to provide instructional programming and services to identified students who are hearing-impaired.
- Establish and maintain a sanitary, safe, orderly, attractive, and positive learning environment.
- Collaborate with other educational staff to ensure due process and procedural safeguards for students and parents related to the area of hearing impairments.
- Assist in the assessment of referred students for hearing impaired programming and services.
- Participate as a member of the educational team to design individual educational programs/service plans, provide direct instruction to meet students' individual needs, evaluate student progress, and conduct on-going reviews of the programs/plans.
- Teaching certification as required by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
- Reliable transportation.
- Ability to use and teach a variety of communication systems to students with a hearing impairment.
- Possess strong behavior management and positive disciplinary skills.
Full-time, 10 month/year
Salary:
- Bachelor = $51,419 to $80,190
- Bach+15 credits = $52,136 to $80,915
- Bach+24 credits = $52,927 to $81,715
- Masters = $62,870 to $92,455
- Mast+15 credits = $63,563 to $93,155
- Mast+30 credits = $64,255 to $93,855
- Mast+45 credits = $65,641 to $95,255
- Mast+60 credits = $66,877 to $96,505
