Reporting to the Executive Director, Academic and Professional Programs of the TExpL® Institute, the Graduate Teaching Administrator of the TExpL® Institute is responsible for instructing, leading, managing and developing Total Experience Learning® curriculum, special projects, collaborative educational initiatives, professional development, and program alignment for Pre-Kindergarten to Graduate College Level students. In this position, the Graduate Teaching Administrator duties may include teaching college courses, with a maximum of 7 courses per year, not exceeding 3 courses per semester.
Summer and Interim courses may be assigned within the maximum of 7 courses per year as well. Teaching roles will also include leading TExpL® professional development programs. Graduate teaching administrators are considered staff and are not considered faculty under the Faculty Handbook except for purposes of the responsibilities for teaching as adjunct faculty during such contracted periods, which do not include additional remuneration.
The role also requires administrative work focused on coordinating one of the work units within TExpL Academic and Professional Programs, graduate programs, group professional development, immersive professional development, or other administrative areas that may be identified. The Graduate Teaching Administrator will work in close concert with other TExpL® GTA colleagues, in Project Teams with other TExpL® colleagues, and with the Executive Director, Academic and Professional Programs of the TExpL® Institute to evolve TExpL® programs to a global scale.

Curricular and Administrative Responsibilities
- Develop instructional materials, including course shells in Alvernia's Learning Management System, which meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Ensure that courses taught meet accreditation standards, as outlined in the course syllabi and Alvernia's policies.
- Facilitate and create curriculum that meets standards for Total Experience Learning®, Alvernia's academic policies and accreditation requirements.
- Collaborate with clients, academic liaisons, and industry representatives to ensure relevance in programming.
- Align planning with the TExpL® framework and the strategic priorities of the TExpL® Institute.
- Collaborate closely with existing partners and encourage new partnerships and programming as it aligns to the mission and goals of Alvernia University.
Facilitate and teach courses in Total Experience Learning® including:
- Experience in, or willingness to learn, the Total Experience Learning framework for education.
- Identify performance-based competencies.
- Establish prioritized learning goals and objectives.
- Assess and report on student's competencies with performance-based measurements.
- Develop learning plans that include all course competencies.
- Align instruction with learning goals and assessments.
- Develop comprehensive course syllabi, including policies and class schedule.
- Make a broad course roadmap of learning plans available to students.
- Inform students of learning expectations.
- Provide a safe and respectful learning environment.
- Engage students in the learning process.
- Encourage student participation.
- Challenge students to use higher order thinking skills.
- Utilize learner-centered instructional strategies.
- Provide opportunities for student dialogue and interaction.
- Assess student learning and provide ongoing formative feedback for growth.
- Utilize summative assessments that are authentic and competency based.
- Appropriately align assessments to learning outcomes.
- Document and report on student performance over time.
- Communicate continuous progress to students.
