Manager/Workforce Pathways and Partnerships

Manager/Workforce Programs and Partnerships leads the coordination and delivery of hands‑on workforce training initiatives, including bootcamps and makerspace‑based learning. This role serves as a key connector between Westmoreland’s education centers, regional employers, and community partners, mobilizing resources across locations to build strong talent pipelines. The position works closely with Center Directors, industry partners, and workforce agencies to align training with real‑world demand, recruit participants, and support pathways from training to employment.

Job Functions
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local manufacturers and industry partners to support workforce development initiatives.
  • Engage employers/manufacturers to assess current and future workforce needs, including skills gaps, hiring demands, and emerging technologies.
  • Translate employer needs into actionable training strategies, collaborating with internal stakeholders to design relevant, industry‑aligned bootcamp programs.
  • Support the development and continuous improvement of workforce training curricula, ensuring alignment with real‑world applications and employer expectations.
  • Partner with faculty, subject matter experts, and industry representatives to co‑develop hands‑on, skills‑based training experiences.
  • Lead outreach efforts with community organizations, workforce agencies, and local partners to identify and recruit participants for training programs.
  • Collaborate with workforce agencies, community partners, and internal teams to recruit participants from underemployed, unemployed, and career‑transitioning populations.
  • Coordinate information sessions, community events, and employer‑led engagements to promote workforce training opportunities.
  • Establish clear pathways from training to employment by connecting participants with hiring partners, internships, and job placement opportunities.
  • Track employer engagement, participant enrollment, and job placement outcomes to support program evaluation and continuous improvement.
  • Help design, coordinate, and oversee the implementation of workforce bootcamps aligned with regional employer needs, including curriculum structure, training schedules, and hands‑on learning activities.
  • Help develop bootcamp training modules and learning outcomes that align with industry‑recognized skills, employer expectations, and short‑term credential pathways.
  • Coordinate instructors, guest industry experts, and partner organizations to ensure high‑quality instruction and relevant workforce exposure for participants.
  • Ensure alignment of bootcamp programming with industry certifications and workforce pathways, helping participants transition from introductory training into longer‑term credential or employment opportunities.
  • Evaluate and continuously improve bootcamp offerings by gathering feedback from participants, instructors, and employers and adjusting curriculum and delivery accordingly.
  • Monitor participant progress and skill development, ensuring bootcamps deliver measurable workforce outcomes and job‑ready competencies.
  • Support employer engagement within bootcamps, including facility tours, employer presentations, and hiring pathway connections for participants.
  • Maintain documentation and performance metrics related to bootcamp participation, completion, certifications, and employment outcomes to support grant reporting and program evaluation.
  • Assist with recruitment, registration, and participant tracking for bootcamp and workforce training programs.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related work experience including coordinating manufacturing‑focused workforce training.
  • Demonstrated experience managing grant‑funded workforce training programs, including compliance, reporting, and performance tracking.
  • Proven ability to build and sustain partnerships with regional manufacturers and industry stakeholders to assess workforce needs and skills gaps.
  • Experience translating employer workforce demands into actionable training programs, including curriculum development and program design.
  • Experience engaging with community organizations, workforce agencies, and educational partners to recruit and support program participants.
