Open‑Rank Professor of Practice – Clinical Mental Health Counseling

Full Time – Non‑Tenure Track (Assistant or Associate Professor of Practice, 9‑month appointment, renewable)
The School of Education and Human Development at Saint Joseph’s University invites applications for a faculty member to begin in Fall 2026. The role supports the newly launched graduate Counseling program, contributes to its ongoing development and CACREP accreditation, and engages students and the community through teaching, supervision, and service.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and deliver online (synchronous and asynchronous) graduate courses in the CMHC program, meeting the department’s 24‑credit‑hour load distributed across the academic year.
- Provide ongoing advisement to graduate‑level counseling students.
- Align clinical experiences with the SEHD vision for community partnerships and supervise practicum and internship students.
- Provide leadership on best practices in clinical experiences and use technology to enhance these experiences.
- Serve on university, department, and program committees; contribute to CACREP accreditation preparation.
- Engage in service to the counseling profession and community throughout the calendar year.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Required: PhD (no later than May 2026) from a CACREP‑accredited Counselor Educator and Supervision Program.
- LPC or LMHC licensure.
- National Certified Counselor (NCC) certification.
- Demonstrated comprehensive counseling background and professional counselor identity.
- Capacity to develop and teach synchronous and asynchronous core, elective, and special‑topics online courses using the Canvas LMS.
- Active commitment to social justice and advocacy in counseling.
- Experience and commitment to supporting CACREP accreditation processes.
- For Associate Professor of Practice: evidence of cumulative service to university, program, and community; history of scholarship; fulfillment of leadership responsibilities; and previous promotion to Associate Professor rank if applicable.
- Campus presence optional; some university‑funded travel may be required for remote employees.
- Preferred: Approved clinical supervisor (ACS) certification; prior teaching experience in counselor education programs; culturally responsive and inclusive teaching methods; online teaching experience; strong interpersonal and organizational skills; participation on academic or professional counseling committees or organizations; and accreditation involvement.
Estimated pay range: $68,000–$72,000 per year, commensurate with experience and education.
