Position Summary and
Qualifications:
Part‑time adjunct faculty may instruct 1 or 2 courses each semester on an “as needed” basis. Courses are available during the day and in the evening. Courses include Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, and other specialty accounting courses.
SJU offers a wide variety of bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral, associate, and certificate programs. With a commitment to personalized attention through a low faculty‑to‑student ratio, SJU may call on the expertise of adjunct instructors to complement the work of full‑time faculty across all colleges and schools.
Teaching Responsibilities- Use established course content and materials to teach course(s) on campus or online (adhering to common course syllabi).
- Prepare course materials.
- Participate in Assurance of Learning activities.
- Use university learning management systems to deliver instruction.
- Provide support and guidance to students.
- Cooperate with course coordinators to assure quality and consistency across the program.
- Master’s degree and/or CPA certification with demonstrated teaching or industry experience.
- Prior teaching experience and willingness to be flexible in class scheduling.
- May require standing for long periods of time.
- May require talking for long periods of time.
- May require carrying course materials.
- Fully online or in‑person only.
- Adjunct compensation is determined by education and relevant work experience.
- Must be located in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York (excluding NYC zip codes), or Delaware. Delaware residents must be present on an SJU campus at least 50% of work time.
