Job SummaryResponsible for the implementation and delivery of training courses and materials that align with Woods Services mission. Conducts training courses for all levels of the Woods Services, Woods Community Services, RL Health, and other Woods System of Care affiliates.
Responsibilities- Conduct training courses for all levels of the organization, including Woods System of Care affiliates, as directed by the Training Manager, Director of Training and Development, or VP of Employee Success and Engagement.
- Assist in the coordination and implementation of customized Orientation programs including actual training of courses, equipment and material setup, and monitor instructors and other Training Department employees throughout the Orientation program. Also responsible for room arrangements and setups and monitor participant learning and testing.
- Responsible for conducting certifying courses in CPR, First Aid, Smith Driver, Ukeru, SMART, and other applicable skilled areas, as well as non-certifying courses in all other topic areas. Conduct training courses on all three shifts.
- Responsible for maintaining all required instructor certifications.
- Assist Training Specialists and others in the development and update of training materials including manuals, desktop procedures, bulletins, training modules (instructor led and computer based), participant evaluation forms and testing.
- Participate in quality improvement processes through the monitoring and evaluation of training activities and trainers/presenters and report results to manager, along with recommendations for improvement as appropriate.
- Ensure timely submission of all paperwork and documentation related to training classes and activities, to ensure accurate employee training records.
- Stay abreast of training, development, learning materials, methods and techniques, learning technology such as PowerPoint, Computer Learning, Audio and video Productions, and their possible application to current and planned training programs.
- Be familiar with all the competencies necessary for quality direct care service throughout all Woods programs.
- Responsible for maintaining a positive working relationship with all levels of the organization.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the Training Manager, Director of Training and Development, or VP of Employee Success & Engagement.
- Provide input in establishing training department objectives, strategies, policies, and processes for Woods training programs.
- Associate’s degree or 60 college credits preferred. Applicants with a high school diploma plus a minimum of three years of experience at Woods Services, a Woods System of Care affiliate, or in a training role will be considered.
- Must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills, presentation skills, interpersonal skills, and ability to motivate and engage others. Must have strong customer service orientation, with ability to work well on teams, collaborate, and contribute positively in groups. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Training experience preferred. Experience working with children and adults with special needs is a plus.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs., be agile, physically able to perform and train physical restraints, must be able to bend, squat, kneel, stretch, reach, push and stand for several hours at a time.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and must complete Smith Driver training upon hire.
