The New Hope-Solebury School District is looking for a Middle School Girls Field Hockey Head Coach responsible for the leadership, organization, and development of the New Hope-Solebury Middle School Field Hockey program. This position supports the District’s mission by promoting academic achievement, athletic excellence, sportsmanship, and the personal growth of student‑athletes during their foundational middle school years.

• Lead the planning, organization, and supervision of the Middle School Field Hockey program in accordance with District policies and PIAA regulations.
• Coach and supervise student‑athletes in fundamental field hockey skills, including stick handling, passing, receiving, defensive positioning, and goalkeeping.
• Conduct structured practices that emphasize skill development, conditioning, team tactics, and safe participation on the field.
• Instruct student‑athletes in game fundamentals, basic tactical formations, and match strategies appropriate for middle school competition.
• Evaluate player performance and provide constructive feedback to support individual growth and team cohesion throughout the season.
• Promote and model appropriate conduct, sportsmanship, and respect for teammates, opponents, officials, and the school community.
• Support the academic success and overall well‑being of student‑athletes in alignment with District expectations.
• Collaborate with the High School Head Coach to ensure vertical alignment, consistency in terminology, and a smooth transition for athletes moving into the high school program.
• Oversee all aspects of match preparation, including roster management, substitutions, warm‑ups, and equipment setup.
• Ensure proper use, storage, and maintenance of field hockey equipment (balls, cages, goalie gear) and training facilities.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with student‑athletes, parents/guardians, administrators, and athletic department staff.
• Ensure compliance with District policies, PIAA regulations, and middle school league rules, including eligibility and safety protocols.
• Uphold and enforce District codes of conduct, team rules, and expectations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.

• Prior coaching and/or competitive experience in Field Hockey is preferred, specifically at the middle school or youth level.
• Strong knowledge of field hockey rules, modern techniques, training principles, and safety practices.
• Ability to work effectively with middle‑school‑aged student‑athletes in a developmental, educational environment.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with the Athletic Director, fellow coaches, and school staff.
• Completion of all required District, PIAA, and state‑mandated clearances and coaching certifications.
