School Psychologist

II.

Reports To:

Director of Special Education

III. General Scope of Position

To provide psycho educational services of a diagnostic - prescriptive and consultative nature for referred students; to serve as a resource and consultant to school personnel and intervention teams.

IV. Performance Responsibilities

A. Participates on building child study teams and instructional support teams.

B. Conducts psychological evaluations of students as part of the multidisciplinary evaluation/re-evaluation process.

C. Interprets evaluation results to parents and school personnel.

D. Participates in applicable due process procedures.

E. Pursues professional growth and development.

F. Maintains current knowledge regarding applicable local, state and federal policies, regulations and standards.

G. Acts as case manager for students receiving supportive and related services in order to coordinate the evaluation/re-evaluation process involving all related services and agency personnel.

H. Serves as chairperson of the Multidisciplinary Team and generates the Comprehensive Evaluation Report.

I. Participates as appropriate in evaluations of students referred for eligibility for Chapter 15 services.

J. Consults with and serves as a resource for other pupil services personnel, school staff, district intervention teams and parents.

K. Conducts in-service programs for staff, parents and administrators.

L. Acts as a liaison among professionals of schools, institutions and agencies.

M. Responds to supervisory recommendations in a prompt and positive manner.

N. Makes recommendations for the efficient management of assigned responsibilities.

O. May be required to work extended hours beyond the school year at the professional hourly rate.

P. Performs such other duties/responsibilities as may be assigned by the Director of Special Education, Assistant Superintendent or Superintendent.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Educational:
Certification as a School Psychologist as required by the Pennsylvania
Department of Education
5 years teaching and/or guidance counselor experience preferred

Physical:
Holds valid Pennsylvania driver's license and access to personal
transportation
